The Seeded

The Seeded is a dark fantasy game with minimalist rules. Therefore, I decided to put it to both 36-word RPG Jam and Souls-Lite TTRPG Jam. This game also (surprisingly) matches the "Nature/Growth" theme :)

Big Update!!

I added the Curse Generator and The Seeded Complete to the download list!! The complete version is an extended form of the 36-word game, which includes the curse generator and introduces 2 new stats: HP and Cursed-Minded state. When you are cursed-minded, your senses are stronger but your personality is negatively altered. The curse has a higher chance of growth in this state. Also fixed some typos! Enjoy!!! (Jan 05, 2025)

About The Seeded

This game can be played in any world setting. The action resolution is always 1d6 and the success rate is always 50%. The other 50%? Failures, bad and worse.

The twist is that the characters are, unfortunately, all cursed. The curse starts at Level 1 and grows as you roll an identical number. So for instance,  if your character's Curse Level is 3 and roll a 3 to perform a challenging action, the Curse Level becomes 4.

When it reaches Level 6, the curse's power grows and kills the character.

There is a lot to be asked and elaborated and that's the beauty of 36-word RPGs!! (I hope the Curse Generator helps set the baseline of your character, though!)

This is a tiny (yet huge) tragedy of characters with ever-growing malicious seeds inside...

P.S. To answer an important question before it comes, here is an example of an action resolution. If your curse level is 1, a roll of 1 will be a fumble (and also level up the curse to level 2). A roll of 2 or 6 (neighboring numbers to the current curse level) will be a failure. A roll of 4, 5, or 6 will be a success.
